Please (1) name any federal regulatory agency whose elimination would negatively impact your life, and then (2) specify whether that agency’s necessary functions couldn’t be performed at least as well at the state or local level, or by a non-governmental body.

Funny thing, at first glance, he looks like he might be a nice young man….too bad he is part of the most anti-citizenry cult currently in the United States. Goes to show, destructiveness often comes in “pretty packages”.
This guy is not technically in the nasty MAGA CULT now calling itself the Freedom Caucus, I guess because he is a Senator and those braindead folks are House members. However, he is part and parcel of what makes the right so disgustingly anti-citizenry. If the states, including the state of Texas were really concerned about ALL their citizens, it might be safe to trust them, but then we saw how they pulled out of the national network for energy and allowed people all over the state to freeze last winter. Since he is from Arizona, right next to Texas, he SHOULD be aware of that disaster but apparently he doesn’t care about the people in Texas, and it would be fair to say, he likely doesn’t care about the people of Arizona either since I don’t believe that this is an actual question…I think he is making his “point” only…his nefarious willingness to destroy every advance in human rights and safety we have ever made.
But let’s see, lets answer this as though he might actually be interested in a real answer:
1. Department of education…and no, it can’t be left to the States, the reason is simple. you will find that every red state is at the bottom of the list on education…those Red states refuse to spend money on education so the kids get less education in those states. Which may be why you find it necessary to ask this question.
2. EPA — I want clean air and water…and once more the States had a chance to clean up before the Feds stepped in, and didn’t do it. Rivers had debris and the air was smoggy 24–7 in many cities.
3. Poverty Program — -Once more, the States didn’t take care of this problem (note that Red states are the top of the “most poverty” lists. Look at Kentucky, Mississippi and Alabama as three examples. The Feds had to step in to encourage some relief.
Now, I am for Federal regulations of business. Letting private cooperations handle things like that just sells our nation out to the big wig billionaires, who then will make the country eat their scraps, both figuatively and literally. Privately owned prisons mean more people imprisoned and less rehab because the privately owned jails get paid by prisoner, or at least having the prisoners, so their interest is in keeping up the prison population not rehab and allowing them to return to society as productive citizens.
The Freedom Caucus is just another version of the mindless “let the billionaires have their way about everything including not any taxes (note the so called Fair Tax Bill which is ONLY to benefit the rich).
The sad thing is that trump’s BIG LIE has fooled the very ones that will suffer the most if the MAGA cult manage to bring down the government. Many of them, including probably some right here on this site, are on federal assistance of some kind. While I don’t consider Social Security and Medicare as being “assistance”, it is obvious than many of the hard core MAGA cult politics do. So where would those people go to get the assistance they need?
For those of you who DO see the horror of what the dangerous MAGA cult are now trying to do to our country with the “debt ceiling” that they are now proposing to allow, here is what I sent to this man….knowing he doesn’t care about average Americans only his malign ideology of destruction.
Below, between the **** is my message to Sen Mike Lee:

“Are you the one quizzing voters about our favorite regulatory agencies? That’s a tough one. The EPA keeps our air and water clean. I’m partial to the National Park Service, Forest Service, and BLM for protecting the wild land that we as a nation share. FDA protects our food supply and tests drugs. The FTC keeps business fair. OSHA keeps our workplaces safe. NLRB helped me get fair wages from an unfair employer. The FDIC lets me trust that my savings will be there when I need them. DOE and HHS make sure kids get get a decent start whether born rich or poor. The Treasury department helps keep the economy stable and we all need that. FAA lets us fly safely. I even kinda like the IRS — okay, I hate filing taxes and I hate writing that check! — but they’re out there doing their best to make sure that everyone pays their fair share so that the government can fund the services we count on and provide for the defense of our nation and I don’t have to pay even more to make up for tax cheats. I’m sure I’ve missed dozens of other good ones. There are so many that I rely on every day that I take for granted. US regulators definitely make my life better.”
When some (usually Red states) always end up at top of the poverty list and at the bottom of education and everything else, why would I trust the states…true justice comes from the Federals in almost every situation. Look at the actual history of this nation and that should clarify the situation.

This is just meant as an example. Those of you who share my concern, let this guy know that there are agencies that are important in keeping this country from being a polluted third world disaster.
