Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continued his culture war memes as a way to launch his presidential campaign.
This time he’s outlawing pronouns, gender-affirming care for minors, and bathroom designations.
“Let kids be kids” is his new attack on the LGBTQ community. The legislation was sponsored by Christian Nationalist Rep. Randy Fine who said, “God does not make mistakes with our children.” he said.
Florida students and teachers will never be forced to declare pronouns in school or be forced to use pronouns not based on biological sex.
We never did this through all of human history until, like, what? Two weeks ago.? Now this is something they’re having third graders [do,] declare pronouns.
We’re not doing the pronoun Olympics in Florida.
It’s not happening here. …
Schools are not forcing kids to declare their pronouns.
It’s GenZ and Alpha citizens who have made gender identity an issue for them, not teachers or schools, as DeSantis would have you believe.
The Republicans will continue to lose the youth vote by wide margins. The 2022 midterms taught them nothing. They are forced to stay all-in against the LGBTQ community because the religious right dominates the GOP base.
