‘This Joke’s Gotta Go’: Santos Called Out By Nassau NY GOP

Top Republicans in Nassau County, New York, have had it with serial liar Rep. George Santos, and he just landed the job. On Wednesday, the GOP officials forcefully called for the newly minted Congressman to resign immediately for fabricating significant details of his life, blasting the freshman lawmaker for running a “campaign of deceit and lies.”

“George Santos’ campaign last year was a campaign of deceit, lies, and fabrication,” said Nassau County Republican Party Chairman Joseph Cairo said at the presser.

“He deceived the voters of the 3rd Congressional District; he deceived members of the Nassau County Republican committee, elected officials, his colleagues, candidates, his opponents, and even some of the media,” Cairo continued. “He’s disgraced the House of Representatives, and we do not consider him one of our congresspeople.”

More than a dozen top Republicans tore into Santos.

“He’s a national joke, he’s an international joke, but this joke’s gotta go,” said Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin.

He lied about everything. This is incredible.

The calls for his immediate resignation were unexpected from a party that seems to reward bad behavior. Marjorie Taylor Greene comes to mind. And sometimes, they elevate the worst individuals to the White House.

UPDATE: The chorus grows louder.
