QAnon Klan mom Marjorie Taylor Greene admitted to Fox News that in the past she was easily sucked into Internet QAnon conspiracy theories, but failed to denounce her speech and ties to Nick Fuentes’ Neo-Nazi America First conference.
During today’s Fox News Media Buzz program, host Howard Kurtz did his best to try and rehabilitate the far right Georgia Congresswoman’s reputation by asking the same tired questions she responded to in the past.
Discussing the deal she cut to back Kevin McCarthy over committee assignments, Howard Kurtz asked about her past transgressions, gingerly.
“Just to deal with one bit of history, the Democrats stripped you of your committee assignments. iI think that was raw politics, but in fairness didn’t you also say that you were a follower of QAnon conspiracy theories, and you were no longer influenced by the group?” Kurtz asked.
“Well, like a lot of people today, I had easily gotten sucked into things I saw on the internet,” Greene said. “But that was dealt with quickly early on, I never campaigned on those things –that was not something I believed in, that’s not what I ran for Congress on, so those are so far in the past.”
Greene did run on the outrageous lies of QAnon because she didn’t refute them until she was voted into Congress. (NPR lists them for us here.)
All normal people didn’t get sucked into believing there are Jewish space lasers, either. That takes a certain amount of crazy mixed with anti-Semitism.
Kurtz also left out Marge’s egregious Christian Nationalist beliefs as well as headlining Nick Fuentes’ white nationalist, anti-Semitic conference.
After she was rebuked by Former Chairman of the Floyd County Republican Party Andy Garner for speaking to the hate-filled group, Marge claimed she didn’t know what the group stood for.
“I do not know Nick Fuentes, I’d never heard him speak,” Greene said. “I’ve never seen a video. I don’t know what his views are so I’m not aligned with anything that may be controversial.”
Sure, we believe you, Marge. Liars gotta lie.
She continued, “But I can tell you is I went to this event last night to address his very large following because that is a young, it’s a very young following in a generation I’m extremely concerned about.”
A reporter yelled to her, “It’s a white nationalist group.”
Greene shut him up by pointing her finger in his face, “I’ll tell you exactly why I would. To talk about America First policy,” ignoring the obvious parallel with white nationalists and neo Nazis.
