Last night, Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated Republican candidate Herschel Walker in the Georgia Senate runoff election. It was predicted, and it came true.
To be fair, the prediction was relatively easy to make. One candidate was Sen. Raphael Warnock, a person with impressive skills, and the other was Herschel Walker, a man who does not have impressive skills outside of sports. So while Georgia’s red voters are pretty conservative, the fact that they could not get excited enough about this train wreck of a candidate is a source of stress for Republican pundits everywhere.
However, for the majority of Americans (and clearly the majority of Georgia voters), Herschel Walker and the Republican Party’s loss is reason enough to celebrate. Walker was such a cynical candidate to put forward, his strength being that Donald Trump once “fired” him on the Apprentice, and he was Black, that I will enjoy some gleeful gloating and some fun takes from around the social media world.
We need to do it now before conservatives begin their War on Christmas programming.
