Ex-Cabinet Member Says ‘Only Danger’ In Debate Is Trump ‘Being Big, Strong And A Man’

Wilbur Ross, who served as commerce secretary in Donald Trump’s White House, has stressed the importance of the upcoming 2024 election debate between Trump and Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

Ross told radio host John Catsimatidis that he thinks Trump will perform well if he sticks to policy issues, but the former Cabinet member still had some words of warning for his onetime boss.

“The only danger is Trump being big and strong and a man,” Ross cautioned. “He has to be careful not to be seen as piling on a woman. People don’t like to see a woman pushed too hard.”

Trump should make the debate about inflation, the U.S. southern border and “all the things that people are really very worried about,” he added.

President Joe Biden’s disastrous performance in his June debate with Trump ultimately led him to abandon his reelection campaign and endorse Harris.

ABC News is set to host Trump’s first debate with Harris on Sept. 10. But the former president this weekend slammed the network’s journalists as “terrible,” prompting speculation he was paving the way to drop out of his head-to-head with the Democratic nominee.

Trump’s antics during one 2016 presidential debate prompted his then-Democratic rival Hillary Clinton to accuse him of “stalking me around the stage.”
