Donald Trump’s youngest son has always been a bit of a hermit. He’s never been an overt fan of public appearances, and his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, has regularly described him as “shy.”
But what was once just a shy kid stuck in the cogs of his dad’s massive public spotlight has morphed into a paranoid, fearful, and “reclusive” young adult, as Barron allegedly fears that he could become the target of his own assasination attempt at any moment — especially considering the recent attempts on his father’s life and Iran’s new threat hanging over the youngest first son’s head.
According to a report from the New York Post, 20-year-old Barron has grown increasingly desperate to keep his profile as low as possible over recent years, following multiple attempts made on his father’s life.
Now, as his father continues to wage a war with Iran that he had no business starting in the first place and continues to fail to find a way out of consistently, Iran has begun to release propaganda videos titled “Where to kill Barron Trump,” offering a $10 million bounty on the first son’s head, only serving to worsen Barron’s paranoia and fear.
“He doesn’t go out,” one person close to Barron, who just finished his sophomore year at New York University, told the publication. A second source added, “The kid’s pretty reclusive.”
Another source claimed that Barron doesn’t even like to be spotted within the White House, moving through the halls “quickly” in a beeline straight to his private quarters.
“You don’t see him hanging around,” one source with close ties to the Trump family told the outlet.
In just the last 2 years, Donald Trump has been the target of three separate assassination attempts: the infamous Butler, PA, 2024 campaign rally where he was “shot” in the ear, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April of this year, and one foiled attempt at one of his Florida golf courses in September 2024.
The attempts on his father’s life alone have allegedly left Barron fearing for his own life, a fear that was only compounded further by the shooting of far-right-wing extremist and podcaster Charlie Kirk.
New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan wrote in their book Regime Change that the youngest Trump child was heavily affected by Kirk’s death, going so far as to call his father in a “state of distress” to tell him that Kirk had been shot during a debate at Utah University last September.
“He had been worried about an assassin taking another shot at his father,” Haberman and Swan revealed, further writing that Barron allegedly told his father, “This is what happens when you go out there.”
