South Carolina Rep. William Timmons claimed on Newsmax that Darline Graham is highly qualified to be a US Senator because she balances her checkbook and waits in food lines.

After Graham’s massive cock-up on National Security during her debate, Newsmax asked Rep. Timmons if he’s confident in her. He renewed his support and bashed her opponent for being too rich to understand middle America.
TIMMONS: So we need somebody that has middle America real-world experience.
Darlene has to balance her checkbook every week. She knows what it’s like going through food line checkout and wondering if she has enough for everything.
I mean, this is silly for us to talk about the South China Sea and Taiwan. The position is very simple.
She needs to support the president, and she needs to support the military, and she’ll learn the rest as she goes.
But I think that what the American people care about is affordability.
The Senate has a major role in US foreign policy, so to describe that aspect of Congress is silly and is a major reason we are stuck in Trump’s quagmire of Iran.
By the way, Darline and her husband have been very secretive about their finances. She reportedly worked for the South Carolina Commission for the Blind and reportedly earned about $138,000 in 2025.
The New Yorker just obtained information about her husband, who apparently is a COO with two companies, Cosmox North America and Birchwood Trading, so I doubt they wait in line for anything.
In reality, Trump just wants another lackey in Congress to do his bidding with no exceptions.
