Outgoing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) complained that America is currently suffering from the “most toxic political culture.”
But “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl quickly reminded the onetime Donald Trump acolyte that she’s partly responsible for that hostile atmosphere.
“But you contributed to that,” Stahl said.
“You. You were out there pounding, insulting people,” Stahl continued, during a lengthy interview that aired Sunday, referencing Greene’s years of attacking opponents and pushing conspiracy theories.
Greene tried to flip the accusation back on Stahl.
“Lesley, you contributed to it as well,” the lawmaker insisted, accusing the journalist of asking accusatory questions.
The pair then went back and forth, with Stahl pressing Greene to “respond to what you have done in terms of insulting people, yelling at people…” and the lawmaker asking the journalist to do the same.
The interview came as Greene, who has publicly split with Trump over multiple issues in recent weeks, continued with her attempted brand ahead of leaving Congress.
