
“Unquestionably, we should take political peril seriously,” Cruz told Bloomberg Television on Monday, adding, “There is a lot of energy. There is a lot of anger on the left. And elections can be dangerous when one side is mobilized, is angry.”
According to organizers, 2,700 rallies denouncing President Donald Trump’s regime took places across the United States, reportedly drawing around 7 million people.
Cruz appears to be one of the few voices in the GOP who seem to be taking widespread outrage from its political critics seriously.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) dismissed the demonstrations as a “stunt” during a Sunday morning appearance on ABC News’ “This Week,” where he claimed, “If the president was a king, the government would be open right now.”
