She was born in Nashville, TN, on March 9th, 1957, to Orville and Cherry Allen.
At a young age, caring for others came naturally. Graduating from McGavock High School in 1975, she worked various positions before returning to her calling first opening her own daycare. Then, later in life, working in home health. It’s the latter where she developed many relationships and friendships that became a second family and supported her through the end.
Gail never met an animal she didn’t immediately love; often taking in rescue cats, providing home and care.
Very proud of her only son, Harrison (Sonny, Alex) Pickett, one of her favorite memories was making the trip to San Antonio to see him complete basic training in the Air Force.
When not caring for others, Gail made time to see her grandsons play soccer and practice Taekwondo.
Survived by her son Harrison Alexander Pickett, IV (Alicia), sister Nanci Thompson, grandchildren Dimitri Xavier Pickett and Tidus LaVern Pickett, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Gail did not wish for service; she will be cremated with ashes spread in the ocean. A remembrance will take place during that time.
