Hakeem Jeffries Perfectly Sums Up The ‘Modern-Day Republican Party’

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries described the Republican party. “The modern-day Republican Party is the party of Marjorie Taylor Greene, George Santos, and Donald Trump,” he said.

“That’s the reality, folks,” he continued. “You can’t make this stuff up. That’s the reality.”

“And later on today, apparently, House Republicans are going to try to pass legislation that will restrict, if not end, the ability of the federal government to confront unemployment insurance fraud at the same time that one of the leaders of the House Republican Conference here in Washington, DC, George Santos has been charged with unemployment insurance fraud,” he said.

“Why do I say he’s one of the leaders?” he asked. “Because the Default on America Act would not have passed the House of Representatives without the support of George Santos — Who was the deciding vote.”

“And perhaps that explains why my Republican colleagues have failed to take any action to remove someone who was clearly unfit to serve in the People’s House,” he added.

On Wednesday, George Santos was arrested and charged on a 13-count indictment, including seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.

And House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is cool with that. And earlier this week, Donald Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation, and Republicans are OK with that, too. And I don’t even want to get into Marjorie Taylor Greene’s flaws. There are too many to list.

There is no bottom.
