Rep. Comer Goes Mum After Reminded Jim Jordan Refused To Comply With Congressional Subpoena

Rep. James Comer demanded DA Bragg explain his actions to Congress against Trump but then turned mute when CNN’s Jake Tapper reminded him that Rep. Jim Jordan refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena.

The CNN host grilled Rep. Comer over House Republican actions trying to impede Manhattan Dist. Atty.’s investigation into Trump’s actions.

Comer claimed Bragg’s actions were politically motivated and he had no jurisdiction to investigate Trump.

Tapper then set up Comer with his next question. “Let me ask you if he refuses to come in willingly, will you subpoena him?” Tapper asked.

“Well, that’ll be up to Jim Jordan. I mean, he’s the lead investigator in this particular situation,” Comer replied.

“Jordan who refused to comply with the congressional subpoena in the previous Congress,” Tapper stated.

Having no where to go, Comer said this. “Jim Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.”

In other words, House Republicans have no real subpoena power to other members of Congress since they set a precedent of refusing to comply to them during the previous Congress relating to Trump’s action during the January 6th insurrection.

Overall Rep. Comer had a lot of difficulty answering pertinent questions from Tapper since they weren’t the usual softball interviews he gets on Fox “News.”
