During Wednesday’s House Homeland Security Committee hearing in Texas about the border, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene told Border Patrol Chief Ortiz she is going to reveal classified information relating to the U.S. border whenever she sees fit.
The QAnon Klan mom ranted about fentanyl crossing the border when she began her questioning, but that has been a problem for this country since Escobar ran his Colombian cartel in the 80s with Ronald Reagan’s full approval, since Escobar was waging war on leftists on behalf of far-right leaders.
Greene then veered into what may have been classified information.
“Chief Ortiz, are you aware that there was an explosive device found by Border Patrol agents on January 17th in an area called No Man’s Land, and there’s surveillance of who put it there?” she asked. “And guess what? It wasn’t Americans; it was cartels. Are you aware of that?”
“I will tell you that some of this information that I receive, I receive in a confidential SCIF, so I’m going to be a little hesitant of briefing of what I know what I don’t know with respect to an event like that,” Ortiz replied.
“I understand, Chief Ortiz, but I’m not going to be confidential because I think people deserve to know,” Green said.
Greene never asked a follow-up question on this issue.
I did a Google search and found no story on an explosive device being found in southern Texas on January 17th.
Marge asked Steve Cagen, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official if he heard about this story and he said he did not.
Green screamed that she co-sponsored a bill to declare war on the cartels because “they are definitely declaring war on us.”
Remember, a SCIF is a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility.
Under 18 U.S. Code § 798 – Disclosure of classified information, Greene “shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both” if her outrageous antics revealed any classified information.
She should be stripped of any committee membership where classified information is involved. As a start. Too bad Kevin McCarthy is beholden to her.
