Some like to paint Biden as being “too old” and “decrepit” and “mentally challenged” but I disagree, especially compared to the man that was in the White House previous to him, he is a brilliant may. I have yet to hear him make up words and sling incoherent gibberish at the American people. In fact, if I have anything against Biden, it is the fact that he is too willing to work with the clown show across the aisle. But then he does win out with them despite their child like hatred spewed constantly.
Take for example the temper tantrum they threw when Biden, CORRECTLY, pointed out that some republicans had brought forth plans to do away with Medicare and Social Security, two programs that most elders in this country not only need but have paid into for years. They denied that it was true, no republican wanted to do away with either program they insisted.
What is the truth? Well, as early as February of last year, Rick Scott of Florida proposed that ALL spending bills be for only five (5) years at a time. Since both of those programs are laws, and part of the budget, that would very definitely have the effect of putting both programs on the block to be fought over every five year. Meanwhile, Ron Johnson disagrees, not with putting Social Security on the “iffy” list, but with the five year time frame. He thinks the decision should be every year. Then Mike Lee has been saying since 2010 that he is in favor of “tearing Social Security” down, although he says he realizes it would have to be gradual.
So obviously Biden was NOT lying. He was reporting the truth about what some of these elites (and nobody is more elite than a republican congressperson) suggest should be done regarding our seniors. That is especially true for those who have worked at lower paid jobs and Social Security being their ONLY income. I admit I am lucky in that I managed to work for a company that had a strong (at least at first) union and was able to build up my resources but many across the nation have had that same opportunity.
Then there is the Revenge seeking by the often complicit in insurrection, House republicans like Taylor Greene, Boebert, Jim Jordan and their ilk. They are determined to find that the government has somehow stolen the social media voices and silenced the right. So what is the testimony actually showing??
Well, first of all, apparently, there was corruption of the Free Speech clause was at least asked for during the former resident’s time in the White House. But much of the “silencing” was done for government, that is to save the personal ego of TFG (the former guy) instead of to attack him as he claims so often in his rallies.
The testimony before the House has pointed out that Twitter often changed their rules in order to let TFG go on the attack, as he was wont to do about anybody that differed even the tiniest bit from his often insane ramblings. Examples:
1. he sent a tweet denigrating the Squad, which obviously violated the rules so they changed the rule in order NOT to label it as what it was….hate speech
2. When he told people he disagreed with to “go fit where they came from” twitter allowed it through without notation even though it violated the rules about demonizations of minorities and immigrants.
3. his ranting and raving about the supposedly stolen elections should have seen as an incitement to violence, but the witness said her hands were tied on that one too.
None of this was actually a violation of what we think of as “freedom of speech” That clause is supposed to be to allow people to criticize the government. By every decision above, twitter actually changed its rules to allow the government led by TFG to use so called “freedom of speech” to actually bully and lie to the American people. The result, in part was an attempt insurrection against the already proven rightful transfer of power some months before Jan 6 when the mob attacked. In addition, the action was allowing a political “leader” to get away with denigrating his own constituents.
In particular, testimony shows that on occasion, TFG and his cohorts actually called on Twitter to be their guard dogs. When he went on the attack of model Chrissy Tiegen, and she responded call him an impolite name (pussy ass bitch I think it was), the White House wanted to have that removed. So who was it that was actually trying to “weaponize social media”?
Finally, there is the balloon which has been made such a big deal. Biden didn’t shoot it down over land because he wanted to be safe about it. And we know that he HAD shot it down over land, and even one person had been injured and required to go to the emergency room, the republicans would now be screaming about Biden bombing his own people, so ignore the nonsense. Biden did the right thing when he waited for it to go over water, and then when he got the other thing over water before it got to our shores.
Wow, he actually listened to his advisers, unlike TFG who thought he knew everything. How refreshing!!!!!!!!
